MY BACKGROUND

I have a Master's Degree in Social Work and became licensed with the state of Arizona for my LCSW. I graduated with my Master's is Social Work from Arizona State University Social Work Program in 2008. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology 2002 from New Mexico State University. I started working in the mental health field while in school for my Bachelor's degree and I have been working in the mental health field for roughly 22 years.

I began doing tele-health 6 years ago and it opened up so many more possibilities and ways to reach people in need. I truly enjoy working with the younger population and have been working with Tweens, Teens, and Young Adults all of my career. I began to work with adults a few years ago and found that to be a growing area of interest, especially trauma focused. *LGBTQIA *gender and sexual identity issues

As a holistic practitioner I look at all areas of someone's life as you are a whole person and should be treated as such. I work with clients to increase their mindfulness and ability to be more present in the here and now versus reliving the past.

I specialize in the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat:
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD),
Anxiety,
Depression,
Panic Attacks,
Fears,
Phobias,
Addictions,
Childhood Trauma and Abuse,
Sexual Abuse,
Physical Abuse,
Difficulty sleeping,
Feelings of Shame and Guilt,
Difficulty trust others,
Lack of motivation,
Low self-esteem, and
some pain management issues .

If you are just looking for someone to talk to and bounce ideas off of as well, I can be your problem solving partner. Sometimes just a couple sessions are all you may need to get you back on track and feeling confident in your abilities.

Currently I am only providing therapy via tele-health (online) ONLY. I am building my private practice part time while remaining to work full time.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR VISIT

I will have a 15 minute consultation with you and once we agree to a professional relationship, you will be sent forms to complete prior to your first session. Forms will include a bio-psycho-social history, consent forms for treatment, etc.

For your first session you will log in to the tele-health platform link you are sent as means of checking in. I will start session once I am ready. I try to be as prompt as possible and I expect the same.  I will ensure you can see me and hear me and vice versa. Then I will check  on safety and security in your immediate surroundings to ensure privacy during session.

We will review your completed documents and identify goals for therapy and which therapy modality may be best, i.e. EMDR, CBT, ETC. Then we will discuss frequency of therapy and work on building a relationship in that first session ,as that is vital for progress, a good therapeutic relationship.

I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among patients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the patient and caretaker alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.
